Description:
Exceptional St. Mary With Child Sculpture By : Architect Bressers-Blanchaert. style Gothic - Style en Fully Hand - Carved Wood / Polychrome, Antwerp - Belgium 19 th century ( Anno 1865 )

The Bressers-Blanchaert studio was a prominent 19th-century and early 20th-century Flemish workshop specializing in neo-Gothic religious art, interior church decorations, and polychromy. The workshop, which operated from Ghent, was highly sought after across Flanders—including Antwerp—for manufacturing, restoring, and painting carved altarpieces, statues, and interior schemes.  Restoration and Polychromy: The Bressers workshop is especially known for painstakingly restoring and repainting medieval and 16th-century wooden religious sculpture, applying new polychromy layers that imitated original historic designs.<span class="Yjhzub" data-complete="true" data-copy-service-computed-style="font-family: " google="" sans",="" arial,="" sans-serif;="" font-size:="" 16px;="" font-weight:="" 700;="" margin:="" 0px;="" text-decoration:="" none;="" border-bottom:="" 0px="" rgb(10,="" 10,="" 10);"="" data-sfc-cb="" data-sfc-root="ep" jsaction="" jscontroller="zYmgkd#vvzi1e" jsuid="TvM08c_1c" style="font-family: " times="" new="" roman",="" times,="" serif;="" 20px;="" color:="" rgb(255,="" 255,="" 255);="">ive Projects: Led notably by figures like Léon Bressers (1865–1947), the studio frequently collaborated with prominent architects and designers of the Catholic Gothic Revival, such as Jean-Baptiste Bethune and Leopold Blanchaert
